Kathmandu, Chitwan and Pokhara Tour is a contrasting tour of diverse landscapes that gives you the feel of how amazing Nepal can be, something hardly found in any other part of the world. This whirlwind tour of a week gives you three different scenarios which begin right in the ancient valley of Kathmandu that was once-upon-a-time a powerful kingdom all to itself ruled by a king of its own. The heritage monuments which signify a rich cultural past of Nepal seen in this old-time valley is where we start our brief but nevertheless wholesome vacation of thrilling activities.
We enjoy a brief tour of Kathmandu by visiting some well known historical symbols of the capital in its heydays; this includes visiting the most venerated hindu temple of pashupatinath which gathers throngs of people during the night of Shiva which is known here as ‘Shivaratri’’ and falls in the month of February. This is the most holy temple in Nepal and is also the cremation centre for hindus that begins with the kings of Nepal right down to the common man on the streets. We then head down to one of the biggest stupas in Asia called Boudhnath which is also a heritage monument that is visited by Buddhists from all corners of the country. You can also take part in the queue of the faithful as they walk around the stupa & turn the prayer wheels while remembering lost loved ones.
The geography of the land changes as we head down to the steamy jungles of the terai to enjoy our Jungle safari in Chitwan. We then head down to the famous ‘City of Lakes’– Pokhara, a junction that leads to some of the most famous trails in the world. Pokhara is a virtual paradise of nature and a wonderful place to spend several days. From there, we head back to Kathmandu for a visit to the tranquil hideaway honeymoon resort of Nagarkot. which yet surprises us with the contrasting landscapes we have experienced till now. ‘Kathmandu, chitwan and Pokhara – a contrasting tour’of immense experiences is the kind of tour you are unlikely to forget in a hurry with Mountain Sherpa Trekking & Expeditions.
