Mountain Sherpa Trekking offers you Chisapani Nagarkot trek Kathmandu and another short trek like nobody else. Our trips are geared to provide you one of those rare outings to discover the many wonders of sublime nature in the gentle wild of rural Nepal that blends in with breathtaking mountain views, wherever you move on the trails of the rims around the ancient valley of Kathmandu; our Chisapani to Nagarkot trekking holiday begins with a whirlwind historical tour in this valley of temples, said to be the most in the world. We take you into historical monuments that speak of a history laced with majestic royalty and concealed tragedy that still rings in the corridors of these once lively symbols of Nepal’s monarchy in its heydays.
We have planned this short Sundarijal to Chisapani Nagarkot trek in a way that would be ideal for those with family and kids that are pretty grown-up, students, and honeymoon couples looking for that extraordinary conjugated bliss as you enjoy the gentle wilderness and this trip may be just the thing if you are cramped on time which won’t be enough for the bigger treks at higher altitudes.
On this outing, you follow the Chisapani Nagarkot hiking route by the rims of Kathmandu Valley with lovely views of snowy mountains on the horizon, set in the characteristic Nepali rural countryside as you observe the lifestyles and ethnic culture of communities you meet up with on the way. We first cruise down to our objective of Chisopani at (2,194m) where we are captivated with the natural ecosystems of nature that surrounds us and take us mentally away from the concrete jungles we all come from. We also get opportunities to interact with the local folks and learn of their traditions and the superstitions they live by hereabouts in these village locations.
We then drop slightly down to the hill resort of famous Nagarkot at (2,175m) which is a highly favored destination for honeymoon couples looking for that serene quietness away from the maddening crowds you get everywhere these days. The spectacular sunrise we experience from this hill leaves us ecstatic with lifelong refreshing memories of the regal panoramic sightings of the famous Himalayan peaks that include Mt. Everest, Mt. Ganesh Himal, Mt. Gaurishanker, Mt. Dorje Lakpa, the Langtang Himalayan range, Rolwaling Himalayas, and a number of other famous trekking peaks. On reverting back to Kathmandu, we observe the well-known historic and cultural town of Bhaktapur. We drive through a road with pine forests on the sides, terraces, and original thatched-roofed colorful villages as we drive into medieval Bhaktapur on our way back to the Kathmandu valley.
If it’s a clear day when you are flying into Kathmandu, then your tour begins right from the skies itself. The sights from the windows of our jet show us glimmering snow-capped mountain peaks spread out down below us, giving us the first thrills of our just begun vacation, sparking off a whole reaction of unforgettable experiences that stay with us for some time to come. As soon as your plane hits the tarmac of Tribhuwan International Airport, a Mountain Sherpa Trekking office representative and driver will be on standby to meet and greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. The rep will help you check into your designated hotel, and after going to our rooms and refreshing ourselves we will be briefed about our daily activities. The rest of your time is free to move around the neighborhood and get familiar with your surroundings. Your first overnight in the ancient city of temples, probably the most in the world. Breakfast
After a king-size breakfast, we proceed for a tour of the famous Boudhanath Stupa {said to be the largest in the world) and a major center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu. The stupa is designed to be like a giant mandala (a representation of the Buddhist cosmos). When this is done, we then do a scenic drive down to Sundarijal (1350m) by a private vehicle for about an hour and trek up to Chisopani (2100m.) all this takes about 5 hours. The cobblestone road from Kathmandu turns into a trail near a small hydroelectric plant. The trail will enter through the Shivpuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. The first settlement we bump into is Mulkharka inhabited by the ethnic Tamang community. The route heads down the ridge through a forest of oaks and rhododendron to Chisapani at (2100m.). We spend our night in a pretty comfortable lodge down here - B/L/D
In the morning after b/fast, amidst the chirping of birds, our eyes slowly take in the northern mountain views. Our hike begins at Chauki Bhanjyang, which takes about 6-7 hours. We continue on the meandering trails which take us toward Nagarkot. Nagarkot at (2175m.) is by far one of the most loved destinations for honeymooners and those who love the serene quietness that comes with nature. On a clear weather day, the Himalaya ranges stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchanjunga in the east emerges from the darkness to greet the happy visitors with the setting and rising of the sun from Nagarkot, which is a spectacular magical sight from this peaceful hill resort with its gracious majesty and beauty. We spend the night at our resort in Nagarkot – B. L. D
After savoring a fantastic sunrise from Nagarkot with the sun rising over glistening snowy Himalayan peaks, we drive back to Kathmandu via Bhaktapur for a wrap-up tour that begins with Bhaktapur. Spread over an area of 6.88 sq km, 12 km south-east of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur {ancient name Bhadgaon} showcases the splendor of the Golden Age of Nepali art and architecture. Built by King Anand Dev Malla in the 9th century, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. this little model town has become a symbol of heritage conservation since then. At the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, we discover numerous fine examples of sculpture, erotic woodcarving, and pagodas dedicated to different gods and goddesses – the Nyatapol & Dattaraya Temples, Golden Gate, Palace of 55 windows, etc. from here, we drive down to Kathmandu and continue exploring its cultural highlights; we proceed to Patan which is one of the three medieval cities in Kathmandu and a destination for connoisseurs of great arts. We take a tour of Patan Durbar Square - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in the square is the Patan Museum (originally a Malla palace), Krishna Mandir- a stone temple of Lord Krishna with its 21 spires and art that displays scenes from the Mahabharata and Ramayana epics, this includes the Royal Bath or 'Tushahity' and the nearby Hindu and Buddhist temples. We next drive down to Swayambhunath (popularly known as Monkey Temple, please note, this is a temple with real monkeys that can be a pain in the neck. They can be appeased by purchasing some bananas below the lengthy staircase you climb from hawkers who sell them nearby; if you are munching something on the way up the stairs, these perky monkeys can literally snatch what you are eating right from your hand, so dishing out the bananas first will prevent you from being hassled by these monkeys who sure have their own ways of surviving). “Swayambhu” means “self-created” and refers to the myth that the hill sprung up suddenly from a great lake that once covered Kathmandu Valley. From here, we then return back to our hotel for some well-earned rest. Your day is free. Overnight at your hotel - breakfast
After breakfast, our rep and office vehicle will be on standby at your hotel to transfer you to the airport for your connecting flight home.
