How many Everest Base Camps are there?

There is one main Everest Base Camp, which is the primary staging area for climbers attempting to summit Mount Everest. It is located on the south side of Everest in Nepal. Additionally, there is a North Base Camp on the Tibetan side, which serves as a base for climbers approaching Everest from the north in Tibet. Therefore, there are two Everest Base Camps—one in Nepal and one in Tibet.

The South Base Camp in Nepal is a renowned starting point for climbers embarking on the extraordinary Everest summit expedition. Known for its popularity, it serves as a hub of dreams and determination. Climbers converge here to begin their ascent via the challenging South Col route.
On the other side, the North Base Camp in Tibet offers a lesser-explored route with the North Col ascent, providing a unique perspective of Everest. The Tibetan terrain adds distinctive charm, showcasing Everest's grandeur from an alternative vantage point.
This dichotomy between the two base camps and routes is not just geographical but a testament to the diverse Everest experiences. Whether at the bustling South Base Camp or the serene North, the shared goal remains — to conquer the majestic heights of Everest, standing tall as the ultimate test of human spirit and endurance.
