Gokyo Valley Trek
Gokyo Valley Trek is one of the picturesque trekking in Everest area of Nepal.This exciting trek to Gokyo valley begins with a thrilling mountain flight to the Hillary airport in Lukla, said to be one of the highest airports in the world.Through typical Sherpa land with terraces and picturesque villages, you enter deep into the Everest area. We will spend two nights at Namche for good acclimatization before we climb higher into the vibrant village of Machhermo. Along with small villages like Dole and Machhermo, you walk up the Gokyo Valley. The Gokyo (4,750 m), which is situated on a beautiful lake, offers a view of the long ice slope at the end of the valley from Cho Oyu (8,201 m) to Gyanchung Kang (7,922 m). The highlight of your trekking is the ascent of the Gokyo Peak, a technically light 5,000 meter. The view from its summit is one of the most coveted panorama peaks in the Everest regions overwhelming in clear weather. Their gaze stretches 360 degrees along the horizon, through numerous mountains 7,000 and four 8,000 meters (Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu) and down to the world biggest glacier fields.
This trek goes beyond 5000m right into the heart of Sherpa homeland taking you into the tranquil Gokyo Valley. After reaching Gokyo peak, we descend down through some pretty villages that include Tengboche, home to one of the biggest monasteries in the region, as we wrap up our beautiful Gokyo Valley trek by dropping down to the village of Monjo and Lukla for our flight back to Kathmandu and a soft warm bed at our hotel.
